Mackerel Pate Recipe

A little bit of a change from classic pate, this recipe can be used with either mackerel of smoked salmon. A great thing to whip up if you want to change up your sandwiches! Don’t forget to add the extra calories if you used the pate in a sandwich though!

Ingredients

  • 50g smoked mackerel fillets
  • 100g low fat cream cheese
  • 15ml fresh lemon juice
  • 3g garlic

Method

  1. Flake the mackerel fillets.
  2. Put into a bowl with the other ingredients and beat together with a spoon, or an electric whisk, till smooth.
  3. Cover and chill.

Variations: swap the mackerel for smoked or tinned salmon.
