These make a great snack for that mid afternoon slump or to put into the kids lunchboxes. Homemade, healthy and tasty!

Ingredients

  • 150g spread, low fat
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 75g honey
  • 225g porridge oats
  • 25g raisins
  • 25g apricots, dried
  • 25g cranberries, dried
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 150C
  2. Melt the spread, sugar and honey in a saucepan gently. Make sure not to let it boil. Remove from the heat.
  3. Stir in the porridge oats, dried fruit and salt and mix thoroughly, press mixture into a baking tin.
  4. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown, remove from the oven and cool before slicing into 8 pieces.
