Gravy Amazing Marmite Recipe

By the wlr team

The most amazing thing about this gravy is that it tastes nothing like marmite! It actually comes from a budget student cookery book. Better for you than granules, and cheaper too. The meat juices could be added to the sauce if required. The gravy is so yummy that it is good as a thick, soupy drink, too!

Method

  1. Add the Marmite to 1litre of boiling water.
  2. Meanwhile, melt the low fat spread in a pan over a low heat, and gradually stir in the flour to form a smooth paste
  3. Gradually pour on the Marmite and water, stirring constantly to create a smooth lump free mixture.
  4. Add more water if required, to create a gravy of the required consistency.

This recipe has gluten free flour, but ordinary plain flour is fine too, and alters the calorie content very little.
