BLT Toastie Recipe


This is a twist on the traditional BLT and definitely worth making- whether it’s for a lunch or a quick dinner. Preparation and cooking time is just 10 minutes, certainly a quick and easy meal! It’s got almost 2 portions of Fruit and Vegetables and a good provider of protein.

  • 85g tomatoes
  • 56g lean back bacon
  • 2 thin sliced wholemeal bread
  • 2 tsp mayonnaise
  • 56g iceberg lettuce

  1. Turn the grill on to a medium heat.
  2. Slice the tomatoes.
  3. Grill the bacon.
  4. Toast the bread and spread 1 tsp mayonnaise on each slice.
  5. Arrange the bacon, lettuce and tomato on one slice of bread, season to taste and top with the remaining slice. Enjoy!
