Porridge with Apple & Honey Recipe
If you love porridge, try this lower calorie version. Using apples to bulk it out helps with keeping the calories down and adds dimension to the flavour. Plus it comes together in just 15 minutes.

- 75g English Cox apples
- 25g porridge oats
- 150ml semi skimmed milk
- 50g greek style honey yoghurt
- 6g sugar
- Grate the apple (no need to peel).
- Add grated apple to saucepan with the oats and milk. Bring to boil, and simmer for 6-7 minutes, stirring continuously. You may need to add a drop of water if it gets a bit too thick.
- When cooked, tip into a bowl, and sprinkle with the sugar, and then a dollop of Greek style honey yoghurt. Stir once or twice before eating! YUM!
It's only a small amount of oats, but the apple bulks it out nicely.
