Bolognese Sauce Recipe

This low calorie Bolognese recipe should be a staple in any household. Serve it with rice or pasta for a great complete meal. Try adding different herbs and spices for a bit of an experiment.

Ingredients

  • 500g lean beef steak mince
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 10g tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 vegetable stock cubes
  • ¾ pint water

Method

  • Fry the mince until browned, add oregano, ginger, tomato ketchup, tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce and fry for a few minutes.
  • Dissolve stock cubes in boiling water and add to the pan and simmer for about 20 mins.

Serve with spaghetti or pasta (remember to add extra calories).
