Ingredients
- 1 apple
- ½ sm banana
- 100ml semi-skimmed milk (or non-dairy alternative)
- 25g rolled oats
- 2 tsp peanut butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsbp flaked almonds
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
Method
- Cut the apple into quarters and remove the core (leaving the skin on), slice off 2-3 thin Slices from one quarter and set aside. Chop into 1" chunks. Slice the banana.
- Add the milk, oats, banana, peanut butter, vanilla extract, 1 tsp of the syrup, and cinnamon to a blender and blend until smooth. Add a handful of ice and blend again.
- Transfer the smoothie to a bowl, lay the apple slices on top, drizzle with 1 tsp syrup and sprinkle over the almonds, a pinch of nutmeg (and a little more cinnamon if you like).
This smoothie can easily be suitable for vegans using a non-dairy milk alternative - we suggest Almond Milk for this one :)
