When the Going Gets Tough

Good morning All!
Some of you may know that in the “real world” I have a one-woman show – I write and perform comic verse.
A few of my “ditties” are on the subject of changing size and shape and I thought I’d do something a little different for today’s headspace so (by way of a small reminder that you are in control and You Can Do This…) here is the poem I penned and which is pinned to the front of my fridge.
“WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH...”
As you bend down to open the fridge/freezer door
Ask yourself just one question...”What am I here for…?”
Is it good healthy food… Could it be something more…?
(If it is “something more” simply close it)
If you head for the cupboard in need of a fix
Grab hold of an apple… step away from the Twix
Opt for light cheese and crispbread… not thick choccie bics
(You’ll be glad in the end that you chose it)
If faced with a pasty don’t think “ooooh I’ll try it”
To avoid such temptation just resolve not to buy it
(If you stick to your plan for a good healthy diet
You’ll see your weight lesson not rise)
Avoid fish and chips and go easy on pasta
Do your best to head off any sign of disaster
Plan your meals, write them down and you’ll lose weight much faster
So you’ll soon fit a smaller dress size
When the going gets tough don’t throw it all in
Just eat your banana and bear it and grin
And know in your heart it’s a battle you’ll win
No more snacking or midnight-feast grazing
Then when the scales show you’ve reached your goal weight
Pat yourself on the back... have some fun... celebrate
You’ll be feeling fantastic (and you know you’ll look great)
