Low Calorie Soup - Tried and Tasted

It can often be hard counting the calories, especially when we don’t want to compromise on taste and satisfaction. When it comes to making the right food choices how do we know which way to go?

Help is at hand with the WLR Tried and Tasted Team – your intrepid food gurus who will taste anything in pursuit of the healthiest and most delicious food choices.

This week we have scoured the supermarket shelves to bring you the best selection of low calorie soups to warm you up over the winter months. Healthy soup makes a great low calorie meal which will fill you up and can be a delicious comfort food when it’s cold outside. When going low calorie it’s still important to make sure you choose a soup that’s big on flavour as well as healthy. That’s where the Tried and Tasted Team come in.

The rules are simple: the tasters could taste any soup as long as it contained 180 calories or less for the whole can. The Tried and Tasted Team came up with five healthy soup flavours to tickle the taste buds: vegetable, chicken, carrot, tomato and minestrone. Put to the test by our no nonsense team, we take a look at which low calorie soups were our favourite winter warmers and which left us feeling left out in the cold.

Remember, the Tried and Tasted Team don’t know which product is which, so there is no bias involved!
