Venison Steak with Salsa

High in protein and low in carbs, venison is the perfect main attraction to any meal to help keep you fuller for longer.

Ingredients

  • 700g venison steak
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 15g butter
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 4 spring onions
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 150g cucumber
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint
  • 10 fresh basil leaves
  • 320g baby leaf salad
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Method

Turn on the grill to a medium/high heat.

  1. Brush the venison steaks with 1 tsp of the olive oil and season with salt & pepper.
  2. Cook under a hot grill on both sides for 4-5 minutes per side. During grilling brush with a little oil & butter.

For the salsa:

  1. Mix together the tomatoes, spring onion, garlic, cucumber & season to taste with mint, basil, salt & pepper.

Serve the steak, topped with salsa, next to a baby leaf salad.
