Weight Loss History
When my youngest daughter was approx 3 years old meal times
were horrendous and quite often I would throw my dinner away!
Having mentioned this to my health visitor she suggested Complan.
I found this helped in many ways but that’s all I survived on
for a few years with a few meals in between. Extremely silly and
harmful I realise now with no fibre and a resulting bowel
problem. I have never been on a ‘correct diet’ until now.
Have you lost weight before
and regained the weight?
My crazy diets that I have concocted myself have lost me
weight but I didn’t enjoy them and I was forever hungry. They
eventually stopped and yes my weight crept back up slowly with a
few added pounds on top!
How being overweight has affected you…
Over the past 2 years I have noticed weight gain. I had
always weighed 9 st for many years. When this year I weighed my
heaviest at 13st 3lbs I lost all confidence in myself. I was
terribly unhappy and hated my appearance especially in
photographs! I would not go swimming and do the things I
normally enjoyed and because I was so miserable I ate for
comfort, nibbling in between meals. My clothes got tighter and
very uncomfortable. I thought maybe I would always be this
weight and nothing I did or tried in the past would lose it.
Motivation to Lose Weight
Basically I feel good now I have lost two stone. My clothes
are baggy in fact all my skirts now are hipsters! I can look in
the mirror without cringing. I have more energy. My husband is
very, very supportive and tells me often how well I am doing. He
can even lift me up now without damaging his back! All of this
is so motivating and each week as I get closer to my goal weight
I get more determined plus I am happy!
Discovering Weight Loss Resources
I was actually looking on the net for a low carb diet but
when I read up on it I knew it wasn’t for me; too close to the
previous diets I have tried. I simply typed in Weight Loss in
the search engine and found the site.
How Weight Loss Resources Helps
Oh the site has helped me enormously. I love it!! I enjoy
preparing my food plan. I have so much more knowledge on what
foods to eat and what to avoid. I have found with bread I had no
idea how many calories were in one slice. I haven’t eaten it
since! I weigh all my food. I actually have breakfast now. My
meals are much more appetising. I eat more salad and vegetables
now. I think it helped having the first free trial.
Looking up calories, protein, fibre etc I was hooked! I don’t
have late night suppers anymore. I don’t each as much chocolate
although once a fortnight I have a ‘treat’ night when I indulge
but I can usually shake the calories off before weigh day. I
look forward to weigh day looking at my charts. I use the pie
charts constantly to monitor I am eating correctly. I measure
myself and I have lost 12 inches!! I have treated myself to some
hipsters, SIZE 12!!! I have longed for hipsters!
The Best of Weight Loss Resources
I mainly look at the food diary searching for different
meals. Just lately I have joined the Christmas Challenge and get
very excited when I get the odd reply; I do tend to go into the
Messages now just to check my inbox. I have had constipation
recently which I think was due to stress and mentioned this on
the boards. I got two helpful replies back on what food to eat.
Beverley's Tips for Losing Weight
When I first saw how many calories I was allowed per day I
was horrified that I would be eating enough. Enough research on
the food database encouraged me to make more appetising meals,
low calorie. My tips would be simply enjoy and have fun on
www.weightlossresources.co.uk . Another would be save your
calories and exercise calories and have a little treat after
your weigh day. It means a lot to me to have that little extra
treat after being so good all week. Also never cheat on your
calories, write everything down no matter how small the serving,
you will be surprised how the calories amount up. Then watch the
lbs drop!!!
I just want to say a big thank you to the team at Weight Loss
Resources. I think the site is fantastic. It has certainly
encouraged me and for £9 per month well worth it. I am far more
confident than I have been for months and I still have a little
over a stone left to go. I feel I will never put the weight back
on again but if I did I would certainly come back to the site.
When I reach my goal I will continue for a short while with WLR
to maintain my weight. Also WLR has helped my children learn
more about nutrients in food and encourages them to eat more
healthily – Thank you.
