Finally done it - booked for a gym induction!
Time to get off my butt and do something positive!
Although I am going to a gym I have used before, decided I
would have an induction as it is years since I last went. Have
decided to go back to a place that also has a swimming pool so,
you never know, might end up doing that too! lol
DAMANDBLAST
I am doing it soon too Di...when I hit the half stone lost
goal (I am at 4lb at the moment)....so you are an inspiration to
me today :-)

Good for you. It is good to have another induction where they
will work out a programme which suits you as you are now. It is
the best thing I ever did three months ago (with a bit of a push
from WLR members!) and now I go to the gym three times a week,
aerobics class once a week (hysterically funny!) and just
started Tai chi once a week. The pounds aren't shifting but the
inches are and I have never felt better.

Finally done it - booked for a gym induction!
Money well spent, hope you get in the mood and soon will be
enjoying your workout sessions. Pool sounds good too. Enjoy!

So Proud! Walked 2.5 miles this morning!
Well..given that two weeks ago when I joined WLR walking ten
minutes to the shops and back exhausted me, this feels like real
progress to me. I did get blisters even though I had my walking
shoes on, but as my feet toughen up a bit they will soon go.
I even felt quite energetic whilst doing it and not too
exhausted afterwards. Its actually a pretty good feeling.
Reading all the posts on here has really helped me. Thanks
everyone :-)

Proud of your too, exercise is great and can become adictive.
Glad that you have started to like walking and hope that it gets
better and better from here on in I walk on a treadmill at home,
bit boring but the exercise is good. Also I like going to the
Gym - perhaps you could consider that in a month or two, after
loosing some more Kg's.
Well done and keep us informed, always
nice to hear of progress.
WENDYTHEWAIF
YEAH!! Well done - I know just how you feel. I started
walking to work a few months back and at first it was a real
chore - now I am looking for sponsored walks and have done 3 so
far (including Race for Life)
It's addictive! Good on you.
LOWLIFE
Thats good, well done! The more you do the easier it will
become and you'll reap the benefits quickly too!
TEAPOT2
Well done Liz, that’s great news, its wonderful to be able to
do more isn't it? Enjoy that feeling.
FLUFFY
well done you lol you should try walking with a 16 month old
on your back and a 3 yr old in a buggy LOL!
I did that last night for an hour had the sweat pouring off
me!

DIY is V good for the calories!
I just entered the time i
spent hanging wallpaper today and i clocked up 560 cals just
doin my job!! :oD i already had about 400 left for dinner and am
about to go for a run which makes a nice start to the new diet
effort (yes...again)
I think everyone should hang their own
wallpaper...get calories and redecorated at the same time!
Brilliant!
JULIAP
Not sure I could cope with hanging wallpaper - haven't got
the patience - but I do love the exercise value/calorie benefit
of doing DIY and other household tasks. Double the benefit!

Exercise plans
What exercise have you done today / are you doing tonight?
I'm gathering the energy together to go for a long slow run -
don't want to push it cos TOTM and sometimes get bad cramps when
I run around the time I'm due. Your exercise might give me more
motivation and new ideas!!
WILFLEINSDORF
50 minutes salsacise this morning.
Not like exercise at all!
FOXY
It's 5.40pm. I have a two hour martial arts class at 7pm that
involves staying at work till at least 6.30pm.
LYNS
i walked 20mins to the bus stop, then 10 mins to sons
nursery, 10 mins back to bus stop, 15mins to the gym, 1 hours
workout, walked 1hr 30mins round town, walked 10 mins to sons
nursery, 10 mins to bus stop, 20 mins home again. Got home fed
son, fed baby cooked tea, vacuumed whole house, sat down and had
a rest I think thats enough for today
NEWMENOW
Plan to do 30-40 mins of Tae Bo this evening if I've got
enough energy after cleaning the house in readiness for visit
from my parents tomorrow!
FRUITYLOOPS
I cycle to and from work which is about 50 mins to an hour
each way. If I have any energy tonight (and my cat if feeling
better - she has been a bit poorly) I am going to do circuits at
the gym. If I don't manage it tonight I will definately go
tomorrow as I have a personal training session with a rather
gorgeous personal trainer!
MINKSTER
10 min vigorous walk to work (late again!), 10 minute walk to
cafe for lunch (greek salad yum!), 10 minute walk back to
office. About to walk home leisurely 15 mins, then go for at
least 30 minutes moderate swim, possibly more if it feels right,
then maybe a 30 minute moderate walk later this evening.
WINKLEGIRL
Off to the gym to throw a few weights around and then off out
on the bike for the rest of the evening!!!
WHISKAS
Go for a good long walk instead of a run - be kind to
yourself!
SARAHWOO
I went swimming before work for an hour and also went for a
hours walk at dinner so I am doing absolutely nothing when I get
home:-)
HBROOKES
I have done 1/2 an hour of vigorous swimming at lunchtime,
along with several trips up and down the stairs at work, along
with some trips over to our other building and aiming to do some
skipping, some ab crunch's and some squats this evening at home.
Then it's off to the gym tomorrow.
JANOLIVER
I’m doing my usual brisk walk with son, about an hour, while
weathers nice. we can have a laugh and talk too. maybe if
stomach cramps are bad you could just walk and take in the
sights and fresh air? xx
LINZ

SCATTYNATTY
I'm going to do my yoga DVD in the hope of finding some peace
and inner serenity.
BEEBARF
I am not allowed to exercise but chasing babies and toddlers
around the nursery all day has to count for something, doesn't
it??
