Slimline Camera

WLR dietitian Juliette Kellow gives news on a new slimline camera on the market which can make you look slimmer.

Slimline Camera

By WLR Dietitian
Juliette Kellow BSc RD

‘The camera never lies’ is an outdated expression. Believe it or not, you can now buy a camera that has a ‘slimline’ setting that makes it look as though you’ve dropped a dress size!

The Hewlett Packard Photosmart R727 has a slimcam function that ‘squeezes’ the object in the centre, without distorting the background. The result: you look thinner. It’s available in Comet, priced £199.99.

WLR says:

Can you really bear the embarrassment of everyone thinking you’ve piled on the pounds when you pass around the photos of your recent holiday, wedding or birthday?

It might be tempting to take all your holiday snaps on the ‘slim’ setting but ultimately you’ll only be fooling yourself. Having said that, seeing a slimline picture of yourself could actually help to motivate you to start a healthier eating plan or spur you on if your enthusiasm is flagging.

If you decide to succumb to the camera, make sure you stick a picture on your fridge door to remind yourself of what you’ll look like when you’ve dropped a dress size. That should help to stop you raiding the fridge when you’re not really hungry!
