Avocado

Avocados should not be shunned because of weight loss goals - they can form part of a healthy diet. This nutritious vegetable is loaded with vitamins (A, B, C and E), dietary fibre, potassium, magnesium and folate. The fat contained in avocados is 80% made up of mono-unsaturated fats which has real health benefits.

The different varieties of avocados each have a unique flavour and texture.

  • Add some avocado to garnish salads;
  • Eat ½ a week as a treat with a squeeze of lemon and black pepper;
  • Top your soups and stews with diced avocados in place of sour cream.
