Mind Maintenance

No weight loss journey is without its bumps in the road and depression can be a major bump as well as a contributory factor to gaining weight in the first place. Read how she managed to pull herself up and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hmmmmm but, which ones will keep the munchies at bay til lunch time? The intrepid WLR Tried and Tasted Team have scoured the shops to bring you their verdict on which ones are yummy and filling and which ones are like having a mouthful of sawdust – all for under 200 calories! Which one will you try?

Practice What You Preach

Heidi always made sure her kids ate healthy meals and drummed the importance of eating fruit and veg into them but, did she take her own advice? ‘Man recipes’ and large portion sizes meant that her already poor body image just got worse as the weight piled on. Fed up with turning down party invitations because she had nothing to wear and palpitations and breathlessness when she played with the children, Heidi decided to do something about her weight. Find out how she shed over 4 stone to become a healthy mum.

Does My Bum Look Big in This?

If your derriere has J.Lo proportions, all is not lost according to a new study in the news last week. Those of us with pear shaped bodies could be better at fighting off diseases like heart disease and diabetes than our smaller bottomed counterparts. But, don’t reach for that extra cream cake just yet!

Trans Fats in Our Food

Various health agencies and organisations are calling for the UK to follow in the footsteps of countries like Switzerland, Denmark and Austria and ban man-made trans fats being added to our food. But, the food industry feels that it is one step too far. What do you think?
