Welcome to the August issue of Diet and Fitness Monthly.

Hi,

Well, who'd have thought that grapefruit would be making a comeback? Juliette's investigation makes very interesting reading. We've also got news of a summer challenge starting on the 2nd of August, and I climb on the soap box with Felicity Lawrence for a blast at the food industry. There's lots more in this issue of DFM, hope you enjoy.

The Grapefruit Story

Recent research has shown that adding grapefruit and grapefruit juice to your diet really can aid weight loss. Dietitian, Juliette Kellow, explains the findings and how to make grapefruit work for you.

LBS Challenge

Join the fun, the Lighter, Brighter Summer Challenge kicks off on August 2nd. The idea is to make the most of opportunities to burn extra calories - get inspired with these ideas from WLR members.

Fun with Houmous

Jon and the Taste Team go in search of flavour and personality amongst the low fat houmous crowd.

Soap Box

I've been reading this book... and it's made me very angry! Here we are doing our best to eat healthily - but being sabotaged by the food industry. Before you pick up that bag of "freshly" prepared salad...

Dietitian's Q & A

Juliette gives more answers to your questions, including how to lower cholesterol, what 'low fat' means, the link between overweight and genetics and advice on preventing loose skin after weight loss.
