Here are a few guidelines to steer you in the right direction… 


Helpful Hints

  • Starters - go for grilled vegetables, artichoke salad, or a healthy bean soup
  • Minestrone soup is a very good choice
  • A 12" pizza will blow your whole day's calorie quota and more - check your portions; share a pizza or order ˝ pizza
  • Beware of meat and cheese toppings
  • Opt for thicker bases - more filling than the thin bases (which contain more fat!)
  • Ask for extra vegetables to be added (remember your 5 fruit and veg a day quota)
  • Don't have pizza and chips
  • Laden your plate with salads
  • Pasta can be a healthy choice as long as you avoid the heavy cream and cheese sauces. Try a healthy tomato sauce option - made with vegetables

Avoid

  • There is no need for all the trimmings
