PRESS RELEASE - FOR RELEASE SEPTEMBER 2003

Lose A Stone for Christmas Challenge

Internet healthy eating site Weight Loss Resources is about to launch its annual "Lose a Stone for Christmas" Challenge. Commencing this October, giving everyone time to eject 14lbs into cyberspace before the start of this year's round of Christmas parties.

Participants will have the chance to win a top prize of £1,000 worth of vouchers to spend at their favourite fashion store, or one of two runners up prizes of £250 each.

Those who take up the challenge will be asked to join members of Weight Loss Resources, and post news of their progress on a weekly basis via the WLR "Lose a Stone for Christmas" message board. All those who post messages for at least seven weeks will be entered into the prize draw, due to take place on December 15th 2003.

Dr Jeremy Sims, who has plenty of experience of helping both men and women stay motivated through weight loss programmes, says "Setting a goal date for a weight loss programme provides a very real focus. Determining the intended date on which to achieve something in your life, whether it's to lose a stone or swim the Channel, is a great motivator, providing a palpable incentive to plan ahead and then attain the goal you desire."

According to Members Services Manager, Pat Wilson, using the message boards at WLR provides dieters with crucial support. "Based on feedback from members - message boards have proven beyond doubt how invaluable they can be in supporting and helping members to overcome their frustrations, celebrate their achievements, and keep going towards their goal weight."

Weight Loss Resources is home to the UK's biggest online calorie and nutrition database, and provides food and exercise diaries that do all the calculations needed to follow a calorie controlled diet.

Wilson adds "Our calorie balance system is incredibly simple and produces real weight loss, plus healthy eating and fitness improvements, without the need for special foods or supplements." Readers are invited to take a free, three-day trial at www.weightlossresources.co.uk
