Lemon Mousse

We thought it was time we turned our taste buds to a few more tempting treats - something to pop in your pack up or enjoy after your evening meal hence… lemon mousse. Let's find out how they compare…

Garlic & Herb Dressing, Hellman's Light*

Lite Mousse, Lemon, Onken*

A nice looking mousse with a refreshing syrupy lemon sauce below a creamy, mousse layer. It had a sherbet like taste, a good texture and was undeniably more satisfying than the others.

Five Herb Salad Dressing, Sainsbury's*

Low Fat Fruit Juice Mousse, Lemon, Shape*

A creamy mousse with a milder lemon taste. Has a lovely texture with a bit of substance (not as airy as some of the others).

Classic French Vinaigrette, Kraft*

Lemon Mousse, Count On Us, Marks & Spencer*

An attractive looking mousse with a nice lemony colour and ice cream appearance. Good lemon flavour - probably due to the bits of lemon peel. The panel disliked the "bits" and preferred a smooth mousse but, if bits are you're thing, this is definitely worth a try!

Creamy Dressing, Crosse & Blackwell*

Lemon Mousse, Healthy Eating, Tesco*

A refreshing mousse with an airy texture. A nice, light mousse, but wouldn't do much to satisfy.

Vinaigrette Dressing, Sainsbury's*

Lemon Mousse, BGTY, Sainsbury's*

Like the Tesco, Healthy Eating mousse, this one had a light, airy texture. Again a nice mousse with a little more lemony taste, but we still felt it wouldn't be very satisfying.

Conclusion

We couldn't believe lemon mousse could vary so greatly. Onken Lite was the unanimous winner - with a lovely taste, texture and appearance. It may be a little heavier in calories than its Healthy Eating or Be Good to Yourself counterparts but it will definitely leave you feeling good!
