Healthy Fish Ready Meals

Healthy Fish Ready Meals

Fish with all its different flavours, tastes and textures, provides healthy nutritious meals. Low in fat, fish is rich in Omega 3 essential fatty acids. It is also a good source of protein and contains less saturated fat than meat or poultry.  Our panel were a little wary of fish dishes but by the end of the tasting were 'converts' and asking for more… see what you think.

Conclusion The packet looked sumptuous: oozing with appeal; raising our expectations - and we weren't let down. The dish looked vibrant, colourful and appetizing. All agreed it tasted lovely with the different flavours coming together. Perfect! A very appetizing dish. The variety of textures and tastes made it very popular with the panelists. The portion size was notably impressive  and would leave you satisfied. Not obviously a low fat option. Good quality portion (comes complete with rice). The dish had a pleasing appearance and an inviting aroma. There was a reasonable quantity of chicken. The sauce was a little thin, but had a good taste. Well worth trying for a complete meal-in-one.

Conclusion An appealing package but the meal looked a little watery although there was a generous portion of chicken. A tangy sauce which blended with the chicken and left you feeling 'as though you'd had a dinner'. As with the other Weight Watchers dishes we thought the portion size for an adult's meal was poor and would leave you wanting more. A very watery sauce with little chicken. We thought the rice was intended to 'pad out' the dish. Sorry but few points - this will make you feel deprived.

†Retailer's Recommended Portion Size

The standard of the dishes was quite surprising. Marks & Spencer's was a firm favourite whilst, with the exception of Weight Watchers, the others were all appetizing and worth a try. This leads us to believe that there must be many other great tasting low fat Chinese dishes out there. Enjoy!
