Food Information Executive Recruitment Information
Overview
This role involves the organisation and maintenance of UK and USA food and recipe databases, researching for and producing food data, recipes and food plans and providing input to the design of systems and procedures for managing food information. We’re looking for someone with an analytical mind and the ability to create, edit and organise large amounts of data to high standards. Full training will be given but a good knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, healthy eating, food and cooking is essential.
Job Description
Purpose of Job
To provide high quality, easy to find and use, food, recipe and diet plan information by organising, growing and maintaining company databases.
Responsibilities
- Organisation, editing and updating of UK and USA databases of food calorie content and nutrition information
- Finding and inputting nutrition data for existing foods not currently included in the databases and new food products
- Checking, editing and organisation of nutrition data that has been input by website users
- Checking, editing and inputting, and/or publishing, of recipes and food plans provided by website members, dietitians and other internal and external content providers
- Selecting, preparing, checking and proofreading of food information to be used in company publications or by third parties
- Monitoring user behavior to ascertain the best ways of organising/indexing food information
- Inputting to the design of programming and processes for handling food information efficiently
Essential Skills and Qualities Needed
- Analytical mind with the ability to recognise and interpret patterns in user behavior when accessing data and organise data accordingly
- Excellent organisation and administration skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce good quality, accurate documents using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to carry out research on the internet and distinguish between reliable/unreliable information/sources
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks, across multiple projects whilst maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- Ability to handle pressure whilst maintaining quality/quantity of work
- Ability to contribute positively, thoughtfully, and confidently in team meetings and in discussions with other staff
Training
Full training will be provided including, if necessary, an Open University Course in Human Nutrition.
Working Hours & Pay
This is a full time position, normally a 37.5 hour week/7.5 hour day starting between 8am and 10am and ending between 4pm and 6pm. On rare occasions it may be necessary to start earlier or work later than these times.
Starting salary will be £14-18,000pa, depending on your skills and experience, with a review after 6 months.
Annual leave will be 20 days plus normal UK public holidays.
