Java Virtual Machine (VM) for AOL

 

To use the Weight Loss Resources web site, your browser must have Java Virtual machine installed and enabled.  Check the current settings on your web browser.  You can do this while you are on this page using your browser menu at the top of the screen.

Windows Users - Check if VM is installed

  1. Open your browser and click on the safety menu
  2. Select settings and, when the window appears, click the link 'Internet (Web Browser) Settings' then in the next screen 'use your Internet Explorer settings to set advanced browsing options'
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Scroll down to the Microsoft VM section
  5. If there is no Microsoft VM section then follow the instructions to download instructions
  6. Confirm that JIT compiler for virtual machine is set to enabled
  7. If JIT compiler for virtual machine is not enabled. Check the box beside it then click Apply and OK. Your computer will restart. After restart try the site again
  8. If JIT compiler for virtual machine is already enabled then you may need to download an updated version

Windows Users

  1. Download Microsoft VM for Windows
  2. Click the link for the operating system you are using.
  3. Choose your nearest location from the drop-down menus then choose any of the download sites from the next screen. This should start the download.
  4. Once the download has finished go to where you have saved the file and open it. This should start the Java installation.

Apple Mac Users

  1. Download Mac OS Runtime for Java
  2. When the page opens click on the Download Now link and save the file to your local hard drive
  3. It will automatically be installed when the file has finished downloading
