Healthy Eating Advisors In Marks & Spencer
By WLR Dietitian
|
Gone are the days when going shopping simply meant filling
your trolley with groceries before heading to the check out.
Marks & Spencer is potentially turning our weekly shop into a
learning experience by providing trained
healthy eating
advisors in its food departments.
With help from the British Nutrition Foundation, the advisors
have all received basic training on healthy eating, nutrition
and labelling to help them assist customers with enquiries.
Whether you have a question about hydrogenated fats,
salt or
probiotics, the advisors should be able to help.
You’ll also be able to pick up a fact sheet on topics such as
the glycaemic index,
healthy weight, allergies and intolerances and heart health.
Find the advisors in store this February.
WLR says:
Anything that helps customers choose healthier options and
understand food labels more easily has to be a good thing. But
it’s worth remembering that the in-store advisors have only
received basic nutrition training and aren’t qualified
nutritionists or dietitians.
Bear in mind, too, that the service is only designed to help
customers with general nutrition enquiries. Don’t expect a
detailed one-to-one diet consultation.
