Pork and Apple Casserole

Ingredients

  • 600g Pork, Diced, Lean, Average
  • 2oz/56g Flour, Plain, Average
  • 250g Carrots, Sliced, Fresh, Average
  • 150g Mushrooms, Button, Average
  • 150g Shallots, Raw, Average
  • 5 Sms/625g Apples, Granny Smith, Average
  • 4 Servings/40g Gravy, Granules, Dry, Bisto
  • 1 Cube/188.9ml Stock Cubes, Beef Flavour, Made Up, Oxo
  • 2 Tsps/10g Mixed Herbs, Average

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180oC
  2. Place the flour in a bowl and cover the pork in flour before placing in a large casserole dish with a lid(do not dispose of flour).
  3. Chop and peel the carrots, shallots, apples and mushroom, and add into the casserole dish.
  4. Prepare the stock as instructed and add to casserole dish.
  5. Add the remaining flour to the gravy granuals and prepare as instructed before adding to casserole dish, plus the mixed herbs.
  6. Mix throughly and place in the preheated oven for two hours, stiring a couple of times during the cooking period.
