If you need an incentive to kickstart your exercise programme
then why not sign up for a charity fitness event.
This summer, Cancer Research UK has once again teamed up with Tesco for the Race for Life. In the 12 years it’s been running,
the event has raised more than £100 million for Cancer Research UK
and has seen more than two million women taking part.
The event costs £10 to enter and involves a sponsored 5km (3.1
miles) run – although it’s fine to walk if you prefer.
There are 230 races happening across the country from May to
July. For more information, including an entry form, visit

Weight Loss Resources says:
Charity fitness events are a great
way to gain £££s for a good cause, while losing lbs from your
waistline.
More often than not, they can help to provide the inspiration
and motivation you need to keep going with an exercise plan,
especially when things get tough. Knowing people are supporting
you and believe you can achieve your goal can also help to spur
you on.
Charity events don’t just involve running either – cycling,
trekking or walking events are all available.
Whatever you choose, you’ll almost certainly need to prepare
and improve your fitness – giving you the perfect excuse to get
more active and lose those excess pounds.
Keep an Exercise Diary
You can use the exercise diary in WLR to work out how many
calories you burn during all types of exercise.
Try it free for 24 hours. |
