What Tony Ferguson Diet Products are Available?
Reviewed by Dietitian, Juliette Kellow BSc RD
The Tony Ferguson foods include soups, shakes and bars, and are all fortified with vitamins and minerals. Tony Ferguson diet products and shakes are currently only available in the UK from Boots.
The Tony Ferguson Shakes
One diet shake provides roughly a third (if not more) of the recommended daily amount (RDA) for most nutrients such as vitamins A and E, B vitamins, calcium, iron, zinc, iodine and selenium. Each shake provides around 200 calories and 2g fat, with the main ingredient being skimmed milk powder, followed by fructose (fruit sugar) and milk proteins.
The Tony Ferguson meal replacement shakes, which you just mix with 200ml cold water, come in the following flavours:
The Tony Ferguson Soups
The range of Tony Ferguson diet products includes soups such as Chicken, Tomato and Mixed Veg, and these need to be mixed with 200ml boiling water. The main ingredient is milk proteins and again each soup provides around 200 calories and 2g fat.
The Tony Ferguson Bars
There are two meal replacement bars – Cranberry Munch and Apricot Munch – which contain around 200 calories and 4g fat each.
Other Tony Ferguson Diet Products
In addition to the meal replacement foods, there are two varieties of jelly (Strawberry and Raspberry). These aren’t fortified with vitamins and minerals and have less than 15 calories per serving.
There are also two dessert mixes (Chocolate and Caramel), which contain around 70 calories per serving and are designed for treats.
The programme comes with a variety of Tony Ferguson branded supplements, which are optional. These include:
- Dietary Fibre Powder (£8.49 for 280g),
- Multivitamin Mineral Complex (£9.99 for 60 tablets)
- Chromium Plus (£6.99 for 60 tablets).
True fans of the programme can also buy The Tony Ferguson Cookbook (£9.99) and Shakers (£2.49) to make the shakes!
Unfortunately, like many meal replacement products, such as those in the Slimfast Range, the diet foods aren’t designed for true foodies. Several people on the website forums comment that some of the meal replacement products don’t taste great.
