Delivered Diet Food: The Pure Package

By WLR's Site Manager, Laurence Beeken

Based on the principles of the perfectly balanced diet and portion control, The Pure Package claims to be the leading UK company of its type. Freshly prepared, ethically sourced and convenient diet meals are delivered direct to your door.

The Pure Package is a gourmet food delivery diet programme, with a range of menus and meals to best suit your goals. They deliver only fresh food daily, mainly to the M25 and London area.

How much will the Pure package delivered food diet cost me?

The Pure Package is sold in 10/30/90 day batches with per day prices reducing if you pay for longer periods.

  • For a No Dinner or No Lunch Programme for 90 days it costs £26.95 per day.
  • For the full 3 meals per day paid in 10 day batches costs £39.95 per day.

The Detox & Cleanse Programme is £46.95 per day for 21 days.

If you choose to make changes or alterations to the menus you will be charged extra. This goes up to a maximum of £59.99 per day for their personal chef programme which incorporates as many menu changes as you like.

There are also extra delivery fees for their diet meals if you wish to follow the programme but are slightly outside of the delivery zone.

How does the Pure Package compare to Weight Loss Resources?

From just £6.95 per month (23p per day!) you can use all of the tools and resources available from WLR.  You’ll learn about portion control and how to change your eating habits for life.  We’ll give you the freedom to make you own choices, lose weight and keep it off.

How does the diet delivery work?

Based in New Covent Garden Fruit & Vegetable Market , the food for their diet meals is always fresh. This does mean however that they only currently deliver to areas in and around London and the M25.

Food is packaged after being weighed and calorie counted for you to ensure that you receive the right portion sizes for your goals. Diet food is then delivered in a chilled box from between midnight and 6am to your house each day – there is no need to sign for it. The breakfasts and lunches are cold meals and the dinners must be heated up. Each box comes with instructions on how to prepare each meal in the delivery.

These are the food menus available to choose from:

What is my calorie quota for the diet foods delivered?

This ranges from 1200-2500 depending on everything from gender, age, height, starting weight, goals and what plan you wish to go onto.

The Pure Package works to tailor your quota to be specific to your personal profile which is based on the details input. This is discussed with you on the phone when signing up for your first package.

A typical menu for the delivered diet food (3 days)

Breakfast Morning Snack Lunch Afternoon Snack Dinner
Tomato, Avocado & Cottage Cheese on Organic Rye Bread Black Grapes & Cashew Nuts Thai Chicken Noodle Salad Fruit, Nut & Seed Bar Spiced Kingfish with Black Bean Salsa
Fresh Summer Berries, Live Natural Yoghurt & Granola Muesli Pineapple & Black Sesame Seeds Smoked Chicken, Wild Mushroom & Artichoke Terrine Dark Belgian Chocolate Mousse Stuffed Roasted Red Peppers with Goats Cheese
Smoked Salmon, Scrambled Eggs & Chives Banana & Almonds Goats Cheese, Beetroot & Sweet Potato Salad Artichoke Dip & Corn Chips Beef Masaman

The food is gourmet and styled like a restaurant menu, with plenty of options that will keep you interested.

In addition to the 8 meal plans there is an added option where you can make small alterations to suit your tastes if you wish but for an additional cost.

Before ordering you can phone the team to sort out exactly how you want your diet meals, including delivery, as well as the foods you like.

What support is offered whilst following the premade home meal plan?

Support is limited with the Pure Package plan. They do have phone lines that you can call (0845), and the members of the health team have information that they can relay. Remember to check your phone price plan before calling. You cannot book consultations should you need to discuss eating out or a birthday party for example.

Can I try before I buy?

No, unlike Weight Loss Resources, there is no free trial. Any questions can be answered via their telephone service.

Will The Pure Package Work For Me?

The Pure Package is a luxury version of other food delivery diet programmes. This would explain the high price tag and its availability solely to London. The service has been used by many of the capital's rich and famous which give it great advertising power within London.

If you follow the weight loss package after speaking to the team and sorting out your nutritional needs, then you would lose weight. There is however no allowance for restaurants, or evening snacks, if you deviate from the plan then your weight loss will stall.

The food sounds varied enough to keep you interested for a long period of time and once you decide on favourite meals you can ask for them to be delivered more often.

The main issue with this diet delivery programme is the cost. £39.95 per day is a very hefty price tag to pay to lose weight. Even following it for the shortest time period of 10 days is going to set you back £399.50 and following the programme for a much longer term is something that will set you back thousands of pounds.

How much weight could I lose?

The Pure Package makes no claims as to the amount of weight that you could lose, as it is a gourmet meal program rather than a diet.

Weight Loss Resources' View

As always, it’s a reduction in calories that will shift those pounds. The Pure Package diet is yet another way to do this and might suit you if you can afford the cost of the meals.  Following a meal delivery diet service such as The Pure Package is a good idea to trigger short term weight loss but an extremely expensive way to lose weight in the long term.

Ultimately, it’s just as easy – and much cheaper – to follow a 1,200-1,400 calorie diet based on foods from the four main food groups. Learning portion control and preparing your own healthy meals is the way to achieve long term weight loss success.
