Delivered Diet Food: My Diet - in a Box
By WLR's Site Manager, Laurence Beeken
My Diet In A Box is a nationwide food delivery diet which delivers healthy, ready-made meals to your door to help you lose weight and still enjoy your food. Previously called Detox in a Box the company has been rebranded.
My Diet in a Box has three diet delivery options available.
- Detox - see our detox diet review
- Protein High - see our high protein diet review
- Beach Body - take a look at our diet plan
Each programme has a particular focus and different pre made diet foods are delivered to get you to your weight loss goal.
How much will their delivered food diet cost me?
£15.50 - £21 per day dependant on how long you sign up for and food delivery plan you go on. There is a minimum tie in of 56 days for the cheapest option.
There is also a 2 day sample taster option at £49.95, plus an online shop where you can buy specialist foods such as soya milk, snack bars and No Fuss Pots; a range of instant meals you just add water to.
How does My Diet in a box compare to Weight Loss Resources?
From just £6.95 per month (23p per day!) you can use all of the tools and resources available from WLR. You’ll learn about portion control and how to change your eating habits for life. We’ll give you the freedom to make you own choices, lose weight and keep it off.

How does the diet delivery work?
My Diet in a Box provides clients with pre-prepared diet meals delivered in weekly batches. You get ready-to-cook and eat breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Designed to help those on a tight time schedule keep an eye on their calorie intake.
The Protein High Box is diet meal tailored and delivered to those who exercise regularly while the Detox & Beach Body plans both contain the same food package (the beach body also comes with exfoliates and body scrubs to get you in bikini shape).
What is my calorie quota for the diet foods delivered?
- Men's protein high: 2100kcal (includes 120g protein)
- Women’s protein high: 1500kcal (includes 90g protein)
- Detox & Beach Body: 1200kcal
- Large Detox or Beach Body plan: 1950kcal (costs an additional £1.50 per day)
A typical menu for the delivered diet food (3 days)
| Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner |
|---|---|---|
| Tasty & Toasty Muesli | Spanish Omelette with Green Bean & Red Onion Salad | Nut & Bean Roast with Steamed Vegetables & Gravy |
| Apricot & Banana Granola | Onion Bahji Bake Served With Curried Coleslaw & Mango Chutney | Vegetable Bolognaise With Wheat Free Pasta |
| Scrambled Egg with Baked Beans | Sweet Chilli Salmon with Vegetable Noodles | Turkey Meatballs with Tomato & Basil Sauce with Herb Quinoa |
My Diet in a Box also sells snack type items from their online store. These range from dried apricots and cranberries to seed and nut bars and biscuits. These can be used to supplement your delivered meals with snacks to have throughout the day.
What support is offered whilst following the premade home meal plan?
My Diet in a Box has a team that you can call during working hours (9am-6pm). They can offer tips and advice as well as answer questions you may have on the food and website. The calls are charged at local/national rate.
There are no specific consultants or specialists however to speak to whilst following the meal plans.
Can I try before I buy?
No, unlike Weight Loss Resources, there is no free trial. Any questions need to be answered via their telephone service.
Will My Diet- in a Box work for me?
If you are using the Detox meal delivery programme with the intention of weight loss and following it exactly, then it will work. 1200kcal per day from 3 meals should help your body to lose weight at a steady rate.
However there is no room for additional treats on this plan and if you need to have a small nibble in between meals this will increase calories and result in a slower rate of weight loss or worse, a reversal.
It is also an extremely expensive method to lose weight. Even the cheapest option of £15.50 per day requires an upfront payment of £868.00.
There is a higher maintenance calorie option for those with a larger amount of weight to lose, although long term it would be extremely costly.
How much weight could I lose?
My Diet in a Box makes no claims as to the amount of weight that you could lose although a number of ‘celebrities’ have given testimonials.
Weight Loss Resources' View
We couldn’t get much other information regarding nutritional content so would be rather cautious with the Protein High box as it seems to be based on low carb/high protein.
Although My Diet in a Box will try to take food preferences into account, they do not guarantee this, plus the meals are not suitable for those with a nut allergy.
While meal plans are approved by a BANT registered nutritional therapist, they have not been put together by a registered dietitian, plus you don’t need any formal qualifications to call yourself a nutritional therapist.
As always, it’s a reduction in calories that will shift those pounds. My Diet in a Box is yet another way to do this and might suit you if you can afford the cost of the meals. But ultimately, it’s just as easy – and much cheaper – to follow a 1,200-1,400 calorie diet based on foods from the four main food groups.
