Have you lost weight before and regained the weight?
No - lost some weight through exercise.
On Being Overweight…
Since losing the weight many people have reacted very positively; most people have noticed the change which does boost your self confidence.
Losing 4" off my waist and going from large/medium sizes to small sizes has been a breath of fresh air.
I am a keen runner and recently ran a 10k race in 39 minutes 32 seconds - 11 minutes faster than my previous 10k in September.
I can also run after my daughter for longer now (she's 20 months old).
Motivation to Lose Weight
My dad had a heart attack 1½ years ago and I saw a side profile photo of myself at Christmas time. I also am a keen runner and wanted to improve.
Discovering Weight Loss Resources
I discovered WLR when I searched for a calorie counter website on the web. I was just curious on how many calories I was eating/drinking and got a big surprise.
How Weight Loss Resources Helps
Up until I discovered WLR I had no idea how many calories I was consuming/how many calories were in specific food items (especially beer!) The main way the site has helped is through counting calories in the food and exercise diary - converting exercise to calories was a great benefit (particularly when I was on 1100 calories a day).
The Best of Weight Loss Resources
I mainly use the food/exercise diary with the occasional look at the message boards. The online recipes were a great help for inspiration.
Chris's Tips for Losing Weight
The best advice I can give is stick with it, it's hard work but the results are worth the wait. Beginning to understand how many calories a chunk of cheese or a pint of beer is worth was the biggest help/surprise.
