Drop a Jeans Size

An easy way to start losing weight, the Drop a Jeans Size challenge uses Kelloggs breakfast cereal to get your diet going.

Drop a Jeans Size: The Kelloggs Cereal Diet

All you have to do is eat one bowl (approx 45g) of Kellogg's Special K, or other Kelloggs cereal, with semi-skimmed milk for breakfast, and then another to replace lunch or dinner - it's that simple!

You don't have to change anything else during the diet. Kelloggs say you can have the same drinks and snacks during the diet as you normally would - but recommend eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, and low fat, high carbohydrate foods. They also say you should ensure the one main meal a day you do eat is well balanced.

To stave off boredom during the two week challenge you can alternate with other Kelloggs cereal, choose from:

  • Special K Red Berries
  • Special K Peach & Apricot
  • Crunchy Nut Cornflakes

Drop a Jeans Size

The diet lasts for two weeks and should help you lose between 3 and 6 lbs. A tip from Kelloggs is to 'keep a food diary to stay aware of your eating habits'.

Hi Guys, I need a kickstart after xmas to get me back in the saddle- so fancy doing this you have cereal for breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner and then one normal meal- I know its not long term just for a boost to start me off in 2006.

I am going to start it tomorrow and will let you know in 2 weeks how much has come off-anyone else fancy it??

Can't imagine why eating sugar coated cereal is anything other than a marketing gimmic but... RACHAEL REYNOLDS

I would die of boredom after day one. No hope of keeping it off as not a realistic diet.

I would stick to calorie counting and lots of exercise you will feel better for it in the long run.

good luck if you try it though! ANGELS424

Hi Fiona

I tried this diet last year. I have to admit I was sick of cereal by the end of 5 days, but I did lose 2lb over the space of a week, with exercise aswell!!

I wish you the best...please do keep us posted!! LISAS

How would eating sugar coated cereal for two meals a day be a good plan? Stick to healthy eating and your calories allowance. RACHAEL REYNOLDS

It sounds a bit monotonous to me, but it's the calories v exercise that count, so it's up to you. BEVD
